Passage of Time Vessel

This is a wood-fired piece - in an anagama kiln, near Ubud in Bali - for over 50 hours, reaching a temperature of 1300C. The lovely warm palette : brown, burgundy, orange, peach and white, all flashed with an iridescence and sheen that is possible only through reduction firing.

It's pure nature at work : ash from the wood fusing with the clay, with the movement of flame surrounding it. The dance of FIRE!
