My National Flower

A personal interpretation of the Orchid, Joyce created this piece as part of her series of My National Flower, which speaks of nationalism and a sense of identity. The Orchid has morphed into a voluptuous form that would prompt the curiosity of its audience. Each flower of this Series carries a personality of its own, and represents the individual's perspective of the country they originate from, its changes through cultivation over the years. With the underpinning message of the strength demonstrated in the way a bud blossoms into full bloom!
The subtle use of colours, pink and green and curvaceous shape lend this piece an interesting dimension from different angles.
